One of the services offered by the HED Guidance is Recruitment and Admission. Part of this service is the School Publicity Campaign wherein the Guidance staff together with student representatives from different courses visits different secondary schools in Quezon province to give talks to graduating high school students regarding Sacred Heart College particularly about its history, vision-mission, academic programs, scholarship programs, curricular and co-curricular activities, facilities, services, and admission procedures and policies.

The School Publicity Campaign has started on October 2011 and will end on February 2012.

The Student Development Office and HED Guidance Office conducted a Seminar on Personhood and Human Relationships held on January 13 and 20, 2012 (7:30a.m to 12:00 noon) at the Audio Visual Room. The seminar aimed to make students aware of their potentials through the help of exploring the several stages of human development and to help them identify which path to take in terms of crisis situations thus leading them towards being Christ centered inner directed Cordians.

A total of 82 third year BSBA students attended on June 13 while 36 BSCS students, 5 AB Communication, 23 BSED and 62 BSN students attended on January 20.

The activity started with an opening prayer led by Sr. Nenita D.F. Pateña, D.C, Coordinator of Student Formation. Afterwhich, Miss Ma. Lucila Baroro, Director of Student Development acknowledged and introduced the participants.

Miss Ma. Lina C. Peregrin, Director of Student Well-Being & External Linkages and Sr, Nenita D.F. Pateña, D.C served as the resource speakers of the seminar. Topics on the Stages of Development, personhood and relationships were the highlights of the seminar.

The seminar was not just the usual lecture-type discussion but it was also an experience which everyone was able to relate with as the participants watched the movie entitled “The Blind Side.’

A lively exchange of thoughts and ideas, questions and sharing of experiences followed which was facilitated by Miss Ma. Lucila Baroro.

Awarding of the Certificate of Attendance to the participants culminated the activity.

Ms. Angela Tabalno and Ms. Mary Cleire Miguel attended a Seminar- Workshop on Family Therapy last January16-17, 2012 at the University of Santo Thomas - Manila. Walter F. Zahnd, MSW, LCSW, BSD, facilitated the seminar at present Zahnd is conducting counseling and therapy using Satir’s Model. During the seminar the following topics were discussed: Virginia Satir’s Five Freedom, Virginia’s belief about people, Self- Esteem, Style of Communicating, Human Kaliedoscope, Types of Family and Temperature Reading. The workshop was full of role plays which were later processed to the level of thinking.
